[ About Me ]

Born and raised in mainland China, Xueying Chang is an award-winning photographer and visual journalist. Her work often begins with intimate questions about home, family, and the forces that shape personal identity — from migration to aging and the lives of those at society’s margins.

Chang previously worked at CNN, NPR, and the Smithsonian Institution, telling stories about how people live, endure, and stay connected through photography, writing, and video. She is now based between New York/New Jersey and Washington, DC.
